English and ICT: Corpora

Corpora are websites that are based mainly on material collected from pages on the World Wide Web (some printed texts, such as academic journals, have been used to complement certain thematic areas). Represents all types of English, from literary novels and specialized magazines to spoken language. They are very useful to determine if an expression is correct and if it is usually used or not in the context that you are using. Parallel Corpora as Linguee also give you the translation of phrases with the searched term in different contexts.

I had doubts about the preposition I should use with the word "related". I did not know which one, "related to" or "related with", was correct.

In British National Corpus "related with" it only shows 8 results while "related to" shows more than 4000. It is obvious which is the correct expression.

"Related with" results:

 "Related to" results:

In Linguee I got results for both expressions but if you look at the pages where the expression"related with" appears, all are Spanish-speaking websites.

 "Related to" results:

Science Blogs: Ciencia de Sofa

One of the blogs on science that I like the most is Ciencia de Sofa . This blog publishes and organizes its entries on biology, geology, chemistry, mathematics, physics, astronomy, etc. It has a simple but attractive design and has been a finalist and winner of the Bitacoras awards.   The articles published by Ciencia de Sofa are quality, quite extensive and respond to curiosities or issues of great relevance in science. In addition, the author of the blog uses language that is easy to understand and with a slight touch of humour. One of the things that I like most about this blog is that it allows users to send questions with doubts or possible information topics and later the author gives them an answer in an entry.
